DISCUSSION:

On November 15, 2005, the Fontana Community Foundation (FCF), a California non- profit 501 (c) (3) corporation, adopted Bylaws for the Foundation. The Bylaws established that the Mayor and City Council would serve as Director’s for the Foundation. Director’s to the Foundation Board automatically serve as long as they hold positions as Mayor and/or on the Fontana City Council.

In November, 2005, the Board of Directors for the Foundation also appointed specific officers to conduct the day-to-day business of the Foundation. Those officers included the positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. Per the Bylaws the term of each officer is now expired. This action will appoint the following as designated Foundation officers for a term of one year:

•                     Acquanetta Warren (Mayor), Foundation Chairperson

•                     Matthew Ballantyne (City Manager), Foundation President

•                     Ray Ebert (Deputy City Manager), Foundation Vice-President

•                     Jessica Brown (Chief Financial Officer), Foundation Treasurer

•                     Germaine Key, Foundation Secretary

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.
