•                     To invest in the City’s infrastructure (streets, sewers, parks, etc.) by focusing on relief of traffic congestion.

DISCUSSION:

On June 13, 2023, the City Council authorized the award of a construction contract to the lowest responsible/responsive bidder (Matich Corporation) in the amount of $3,086,152.00 with a 10% contingency in the amount of $308,615.20 for the Foothill Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation Project (#37604130).  The proposed improvements for the Foothill Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation Project consisted of 2” grind and overlay, full depth removal, slurry seal pavement improvements, as well as ADA curb ramp upgrades.  The project will ultimately prolong the life of the streets within the project limits and brought our ADA curb ramps up to code.

Matich Corporation completed the project on December 11, 2023.  The project was successfully completed for the final amount of $3,097,309.28, an increase of .36% from the original contract amount of $3,086,152.00 and $297,457.92 under the total authorized budget.  All work has been completed to the satisfaction of the City of Fontana.
