COUNCIL GOALS:

DISCUSSION:

On June 25, 2019, the San Bernardino County Public Works Department (SBCPWD) and the City of Fontana Public Works Department entered into an agreement that provided mutual assistance by utilizing the most effective, efficient, and expedient manner for routine infrastructure maintenance and emergency responses on street segments with shared jurisdictional boundaries. Maintenance of storm drain facilities, post-storm event debris cleanup activities, grading and soil stabilization of unimproved roads, emergency asphalt pavement repairs, pavement markings, and striping are examples of typical projects covered under this agreement.

The current agreement is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2024. Staff recommends that the proposed first amendment to the cooperative agreement be in effect for a period of five (5) years, ending June 30, 2029, in an annual amount not to exceed $100,000. All other terms of the contract will remain the same.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds shall be allocated and available from the Gas Tax (State) Fund # 281 annually in an amount not to exceed $100,000.

MOTION:

Approve staff recommendation.
