Accept grant award from Kaiser Permanente in the amount of $18,000 for use towards Healthy Fontana’s “Feeding Fontana.”

COUNCIL GOALS:
• Operate in a businesslike manner by creating a memorable customer experience with every interaction.
• Increase citizen involvement by seeking community input.
• Invest in the City’s infrastructure (streets, sewers, parks, etc.) by creating and promoting community through people, parks, and programs.
DISCUSSION:
The City’s Healthy Fontana Program received a grant from Kaiser Permanente as an effort to provide food for Fontana residents in need. The program was granted $18,000 to conduct food distribution of a total of 1,200 meal kits at 6 different food distributions (200 meal kits per distribution). The City is partnering with Feeding America and Loveland Church to distribute the meal kits.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $18,000 will be deposited into account 101.3511 for use to off-set the costs for “Feeding Fontana”.
