• To invest in the City’s infrastructure (streets, sewers, parks, etc.) by providing for the development of new infrastructure.
DISCUSSION:
The Cypress Storm Drain project includes installation of a new storm drain system along Cypress Avenue from Orange Way to Foothill Boulevard, and along Foothill Boulevard from Cypress Avenue to Sierra Avenue. A new raised landscaped median will also be extended on Foothill Boulevard from 600 feet east of Cypress Avenue to Sierra Avenue. These improvements are being designed to control storm water flow through these roadways. This project is part of a comprehensive Master Storm Drain system to provide flood protection to this area.
SBCTA owns the right-of-way where the Pacific Electric Trail (PE Trail) crosses the proposed storm drain improvements. A License Agreement by and between SBCTA and the City is required for all construction and maintenance of the proposed storm drain system located at the PE Trail crossing. Under the terms of this License Agreement, SBCTA grants the City of Fontana a non-exclusive, revocable license to construct and maintain the new storm drain system at the PE Trail crossing.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The license agreement requires a $1,200.00 annual administration fee. Funds are currently budgeted for FY2024-25 in the General Fund, account number 10137505.8021.
MOTION:
