RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
1. Accept the 2024 JAG Grant #14268600 in the amount of $45,317.
2. Authorize City Manager or his designee to sign all related grant documents including extensions or modifications for the grant, and expend funds as outlined in the grant agreement.

COUNCIL GOALS:
• Improve public safety by increasing operational efficiency, visibility and availability.
• Practice sound fiscal management by pursing grant opportunities.
DISCUSSION:
The 2024 JAG has awarded the Fontana Police Department a grant in the amount of $45,317. Funds will be used to purchase specialized threat plates to be used by the Police Department’s SWAT Unit. Due to available supplies and time constraints, if items are unavailable, funds will be reallocated to other identified priority law enforcement equipment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact associated with the approval of this item is $45,317 and is not included in the current 2024-25 budget. Budget adjustments to increase revenues and expenditures in the amount of $45,317 in grant fund #301, Project #40300011-301-A will be included in the 2nd Quarter Budget Status Report.
