Consider an appointment of a Council Member to the position of Mayor Pro Tem for a one-year term.

COUNCIL GOALS:

•                     Create and maintain a dynamic team by supporting the decisions of the majority once made.

•                     Create and maintain a dynamic team by promoting stability and predictability by providing consistent policy direction.

DISCUSSION:

Historically, the City Council appoints a Mayor Pro Tem to serve for a term of one year. Peter Garcia, the current Mayor Pro Tem, was appointed in January 2023 and reappointed in January 2024.
