RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
Authorize the City Manager or his designee to enter into a contract with the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to accept a contribution in the amount of $100,000 for the production and support costs of Local Arts Events at Stage Red.

COUNCIL GOALS:
• Concentrate on Inter-governmental relations by pursuing financial participation from county, state and federal governments.
DISCUSSION:
The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors is contributing to the City’s effort of promoting local talent of musicians and artists. The grant will assist the City in featuring local artists, promote music, and other local acts from the region at Stage Red. Funds will be used towards:
• Talent Show where local amateurs would participate in a talent contest.
• Iz Avila Residency at Stage Red and feature other prominent local acts from the region.
The upcoming events would promote local talent and have the dual benefit of promoting the redevelopment occurring in Downtown Fontana.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact associated with the approval of this item will result in increased revenues for Stage Red in the amount of $100,000 to Project String 37300002 Fund 720. The grant requires a matching contribution of 25% of the cost for a minimum of $25,000 from the City. All necessary budget adjustments will be included in the next quarterly budget report.
