RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
Accept as complete the work performed by Ortco Inc. for the ADA / Inclusive Interactive Playground Replacement Project (SB-122-PW-23).

COUNCIL GOALS:
• Invest in the City’s infrastructure (streets, sewers, parks, etc.) by maintaining and improving the city's existing infrastructure.
• Invest in the City’s infrastructure (streets, sewers, parks, etc.) by providing for the development of new infrastructure.
DISCUSSION:
On June 13, 2023, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Ortco Inc. for the ADA / Inclusive Interactive Playground Replacement Project (SB-122-PW-23) in the amount of $2,123,305.00 and authorized a 10% contingency of $212,330.50 for a total contract authorization of $2,335,635.50.
There were no contract change orders for this project. Ortco Inc. completed the project on April 17, 2025. All work has been completed to the satisfaction of the City for a final contract amount of $2,123,305.00.
The final retention payment will be released thirty-five (35) days after the filing of the Notice of Completion with the County Recorder’s Office.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the approval of this item. The final contract cost for this project was $2,123,305.00 and the funding was budgeted in the FY 2022/2023 Capital Improvement Program in project strings 37200007-301-B-8313, 37200005-302-G-8313, 37200005-302-H-8313, 37200005-302-I-8313, 37200005-302-K-8313, 37200005-302-M-8313, 37200005-302-N-8313, 37200005-302-Q-8313, 37200005-302-R-8313, and 37200006-301-E-8313.
