DISCUSSION:
The Pickleball Courts at Seville Park Project will include the addition of four (4) or more pickleball courts within the existing Seville Park located at 16669 Seville Avenue. The City Council approved a Professional Services Agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (Kimley-Horn) on July 22, 2025. The original contract scope included the design of the new courts with shade structures, fencing, lighting, and landscape improvements with a noise study for the pickleball court amenity.
This Amendment will expand Kimley-Horn’s conceptual design scope to include the entire park with conceptual designs for a new pump track, skate park, restroom building, operator’s building, comprehensive ADA compliant pathways, and basketball court modifications with the pickleball courts. The noise study will also include the new proposed uses for the pump track and skate park once the concept is finalized. As a result of the expanded conceptual plan scope, the survey limits will increase to include the entire park and both parking lots to ensure adequate ADA compliance within the design.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact associated with the approval of this item is $154,800.00 for the full term of the Amendment. Funds are included in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Budget in Project 37600092-604-A-8113.
MOTION:
Approve staff recommendation.
