Accept as complete the work performed by Gentry General Engineering, Inc. for the construction of the Bus Pad (Transit Stop Improvements) TDA 2023 Project (DE-25-182-CC).

COUNCIL GOALS:

DISCUSSION:
On October 14, 2025, the City Council awarded the Construction Contract for the Bus Pad (Transit Stop Improvements) TDA 2023 Project to Gentry General Engineering, Inc. in the amount of $99,346.80, which included $9,934.68 in City-Owned Contingency. The improvements consisted of the construction of concrete bus landing pads, removal and replacement of existing sidewalk, modification of existing landscape and irrigation, traffic control, and other work as directed by the Engineer to accommodate field conditions at 10 locations throughout the City of Fontana.
Gentry General Engineering, Inc. completed the construction of the project, and a Project Completion Memo was issued on May 5, 2026. The final contract amount is $105,264.08, using $5,917.28 of the $9,934.68 in City-Owned Contingency. All work has been completed to the satisfaction of the City of Fontana.
FISCAL IMPACT:
As part of the action to accept the construction of the Bus Pad (Transit Stop Improvements) TDA 2023 Project (#37600069) as complete, the City will take over the operation and maintenance of this public infrastructure. Appropriate funding for the maintenance work is included in the FY 2025-26 revised budget under the Public Works & Engineering Department, Utilities & Streets Division.
