Recommendation

Approve and authorize the City Manager to enter into a Public Road Easement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service along Coyote Canyon Road, west of Sierra Avenue.

COUNCIL GOALS:

                     To invest in the City’s infrastructure (streets, sewers, parks, etc.) by maintaining and improving the city's existing infrastructure.

                     To invest in the City’s infrastructure (streets, sewers, parks, etc.) by providing for the development of new infrastructure.

 

DISCUSSION:

On June 2, 2020, the City of Fontana Planning Commission approved MCN No. 15-078 and Design Review No. 16-003 to consolidate twelve parcels into two parcels and a remainder parcel, totaling approximately 83 acres for the development of a new commerce building totaling approximately 1,171,788 square feet.

 

To adhere to the Conditions of Approval, the developer coordinated with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service to get a Public Road Easement along Coyote Canyon Road.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There are no fiscal impacts associated with approving the Public Road Easement.  Funding for the maintenance work is included in the FY 2026-2027 budget under the Public Works & Engineering Department, Utilities and Street Division.

Approve staff recommendation.
