RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
1. Accept the 2023 Homeland Security Grant Program subrecipient award in the amount $47,072 from the Office of Homeland Security.
2. Authorize the Chief of Police or his designee to sign all related grant documents including extensions or modifications for the grant; and expend funds as outlined in the grant agreement.

DISCUSSION:
The Office of Homeland Security has made available funding to agencies under the FY 2023 Homeland Security Grant Program. The City of Fontana has received grant funding in the amount of $47,072. The Fontana Police Department plans to utilize 2023 HSGP funding to purchase various police equipment, including a forensic microscope, forensic data blocker, surveillance cameras, and rook camera. If any of these items become unavailable, an amendment will be submitted to the grantor to identify alternative priority equipment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact associated with the approval of this item is $47,072 and is not included in the current 2024-25 Budget. Budget adjustments to increase revenues and expenditures in the amount of $47,072 in Grant Fund #301, Project #40300010-301-A will be included in the 1st Quarter Budget Status Report.
