RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
Award construction bid and authorize the City Manager to execute a construction contract with Dash Construction Company, Inc. for the McDermott Soccer Field Iron Fencing Removal and Installation Project (PW-24-139-CC) in the amount of $172,400.00 and authorize 10% contingency in the amount of $17,240.00.

COUNCIL GOALS:
• Invest in the City’s infrastructure (streets, sewers, parks, etc.) by maintaining and improving the city's existing infrastructure.
DISCUSSION:
The existing original wrought iron perimeter fencing at McDermott Soccer Park has deteriorated to the point of needing replacement. Staff recently solicited bids for its removal and the installation of new wrought iron fencing.
Bids for this contract were opened on February 15th, 2024 at 2:00 pm. A total of six (6) bids were received ranging from $172,400.00 to $329,288.00. Dash Construction Company, Inc. is the lowest bidder in the amount of $172,400.00 The Engineer’s estimate for this work was $195,000.00.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact associated with the approval of this item is $172,400.00 for the full term of construction and $17,240 for construction contingency. These amounts are included in the FY 2023-2024 available budget in Org# 39637202.8130.
