COUNCIL GOALS:

DISCUSSION:
The City of Fontana, through the Community Services Department, has been receiving and reviewing an increasing number of Special Event Applications from outside organizations seeking to host large-scale events at the Miller Park Amphitheater and the surrounding area. The submitting organizations have expressed interest in renting the entire parking structure for the exclusive use of their hosted events.
In response, the Community Services Department, in collaboration with the Public Works Department, is proposing a rental fee of $1,500.00 per day or approximately $5.00 per parking stall which is a reasonable market rate. The Community Services Department will permit the rental and collect the fees. Public Works will assist with use, ensuring the structure is opened and closed at the proper times.
Only renting organizations will be permitted to rent the parking structure; no individual will be authorized to rent the parking structure for individual profit. Renting organizations must provide a City of Fontana Business License and a Certificate of Insurance listing the City of Fontana as “Additionally Insured.”
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact associated with the approval of this item is the establishment of the Parking Structure Rental Fee of $1,500 per event and is expected to generate $4,500.00 in annual revenue.
