RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation

1.                     Authorize Purchasing Division to procure AED Monitors/Defibrillators utilizing the Purchasing Policy and Procedure Manual Section 3.1.5 Non-Competitive Proposal - Purchased by Another Agency.

 

2.                     Authorize Purchasing Division to procure and use the National Purchasing Partners Government (NPPAGOV) Contract No. PS20200 to purchase the defibrillators from Zoll Medical Corporation and Bound Tree Medical Contract #202400875.

 

3.                     Authorize the purchase orders from Zoll Medical Corporation in the amount of $165,190.61 and Bound Tree Medical in the amount of $33,889.63 for the AED’s.

DISCUSSION:

Fontana Fire Protection District is requesting to purchase three (3) X Series Advanced Monitor/Defibrillators for the District’s EMS units and eleven (11) Powerheart surface mount for Human Resources that oversees the city’s AED’s.  These defibrillators are standard equipment for all District’s fire stations and city facilities that provide the highest quality solution for both adult and pediatric patient conditions for cardiac arrest.  Human Resources oversees the city’s AED’s for city-wide facilities

 

Per the City’s Purchasing Policies and Procedures Manual, Section 3.1.5 Non-Competitive Proposal may be used when a product is being purchased when the product being required was awarded a bid by another agency at the same price offered to the City of Fontana.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Fiscal impact associated with the approval of this item is $199,080.24 and is available in FY 2026/2027 budget in 21050000-8318.
