Recommendation
Accept as complete the work performed by CT&T Concrete Paving, Inc for the construction of the Kathy Binks Elementary Safe Routes to School Project (#37600024) and approve the final construction amount of $321,737.09 (Bid No. SB-108-DE-23).

COUNCIL GOALS:
• To invest in the City’s infrastructure (streets, sewers, parks, etc.) by maintaining and improving the city's existing infrastructure.

DISCUSSION:
On May 9, 2023, the City Council authorized the award of a construction contract to the lowest responsible/responsive bidder (CT&T Concrete Paving, Inc) in the amount of $322,795.00 with a 10% contingency in the amount of $32,279.50 for the Kathy Binks Elementary Safe Routes to School Project (#37600024). The proposed improvements for the Kathy Binks Elementary Safe Routes to School Project consisted of constructing missing sidewalk, curb and gutter, and minor street improvements along the east side of Cypress Avenue and the west side of Juniper Avenue, north of Baseline Avenue. The project ultimately closed sidewalk gaps for residential communities in the vicinity, linking them to Kathy Binks Elementary School.
CT&T Concrete Paving, Inc completed the construction of the project on November 15, 2023. The project was successfully completed for the final contract amount of $321,737.09, a decrease of 0.33% from the original contract amount of $322,795.00 and $33,337.41 under the total authorized budget. All work has been completed to the satisfaction of the City.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the approval of this item.
