RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
1. Accept the FY 2022 Emergency Management Performance Grant in the amount of $39,853.
2. Authorize the Emergency Services Coordinator to sign all related grant documents including extensions or modifications for the grant; and expend funds as outlined in the grant agreement.
3. Approve the City’s in-kind match of $39,853.
4. Approve to increase revenues and appropriation in the amount of Emergency Management Performance Grant to fund #301.

DISCUSSION:
Federal financial assistance provided by the Department of Homeland Security and sub-granted through the State of California and the County of San Bernardino was made available to agencies under the FY 2022 Emergency Management Performance Grant Program. The City of Fontana was awarded grant funding in the amount of $39,853. The funding requires a match of $39,853.
The Fontana Administrative Services Department intends to use the 2022 EMPG funding to buy equipment and supplies that will bolster the City's Emergency Management program. This includes mobile generators for backup power during outages and supplies for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, such as backpacks, tourniquets, and moulage kits. The matching funds for the expenditures will come from the Department’s time spent on emergency management activities.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The City of Fontana will increase estimated revenues and expenditures in the amount of Emergency Management Performance Grant. with the Third Quarter Budget Report to match grant award of $39,853 in the FY 2022 EMPG Grant Project # 20000001-301-A.
