COUNCIL GOALS:

DISCUSSION:
The Fontana Unified School District (FUSD) has awarded the City of Fontana, the Fontana Expanded Learning Program Agreement as the ASES and ELO-P contracted provider of the Fontana Expanded Learning Program, an after-school enrichment program for the effective term of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027. The Agreement provides for a three-year term between FUSD and the City to operate grant funded after-school programs at twenty-eight (28) elementary schools and five (5) middle schools.
The City of Fontana, Community Services Department has provided after-school program service delivery for FUSD for seventeen (17) consecutive operation years of which the current Agreement expires as of June 30, 2024. The Fontana Expanded Learning Program provides a safe place after-school for students in kindergarten through eighth grade with the goal of promoting social, physical, intellectual, and emotional development.
The proposed Agreement is anticipated to be considered by the FUSD Board at their Wednesday, May 1, 2024, Board of Education Meeting
FISCAL IMPACT:
The City of Fontana will be 100% reimbursed for all costs per the Agreement not to exceed a total amount of $19,288,265.00 per year. Operating budgets will be tracked in ORGs 38524101 in the amount of $4,407,402 per year and 38624101 in the amount of $14,880,863 per year respectfully and is included in the FY 2024-2025 Adopted Operating Budget and will be included in subsequent Proposed Annual Operating Budgets thereafter.
