Accept as complete the work performed by Crosstown Electrical and Data, Inc. for the construction of the West Liberty Parkway at Miller Avenue Traffic Signal Project (Bid No. SB-07-DE-22).

COUNCIL GOALS:

DISCUSSION:
On July 12, 2022, the City Council authorized the award of a construction contract to Crosstown Electrical and Data, Inc. in the amount of $519,383.00 with a 10% contingency in the amount of $51,938.30 for the construction of the West Liberty Parkway at Miller Avenue Traffic Signal Project (#37600002). The improvements for the project consisted of the installation of a new traffic signal with new ADA compliant ramps and new interconnect fiber to the traffic signal at the intersection of East Avenue at Miller Avenue in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, allowing for a coordinated timing plan along Miller Avenue to aid circulation and ease traffic congestion.
Crosstown Electrical and Data, Inc. completed the project on January 28, 2025. The project was successfully completed for the final amount of $531,424.08, an increase of 2.32% from the original contract amount of $519,383.00 and $39,897.22 under the total authorized budget. All work has been completed to the satisfaction of the City of Fontana.
FISCAL IMPACT:
As part of the action to accept the construction of the West Liberty Parkway at Miller Avenue Traffic Signal Project (#37600002) as complete, the City will take over the operation and maintenance of this public infrastructure. Appropriate funding for the maintenance work is included in the FY 2024-25 revised budget under the Public Works Department, Utilities and Streets Division.
