RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
1. Approve and authorize the City Manager to enter into Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Agreement with TKE Engineering, Inc. for Engineering Design Services (DE-26-115-MS) in the amount of $92,924.00 for the Sierra Avenue Storm Drain Extension, for total compensation not to exceed $246,954.00.
2. Authorize the City Manager to enter into any future amendments to the Task Order not exceeding $25,000.00.

DISCUSSION:
A new storm drain system will be designed and installed along Sierra Avenue, from Malaga Street to Foothill Boulevard. Improvements include new reinforced concrete pipe and catch basins to capture storm water flow along Sierra Avenue. The improvements will connect to the storm drain facilities being installed along Foothill Boulevard, from Cypress Avenue to Sierra Avenue, as part of the Cypress Avenue Storm Drain Project. These improvements are part of a comprehensive Master Storm Drain system to provide flood protection to the area.
On March 10, 2026, the City entered into a Professional Services Agreement with TKE Engineering, Inc. for Engineering Design Services for the Sierra Avenue Storm Drain Extension. The original contract amount of the Professional Services Agreement was $154,030.00. This Amendment No. 1, in the amount of $92,924.00, will increase the contract total to $246,954.00.
Amendment No. 1 will permit TKE Engineering, Inc. to perform the additional scope of services required for the design of the project. The expanded scope includes revising the design limits of the storm drain system to include from Malaga Street to Miller Avenue. The additional engineering services will evaluate drainage conditions north of Malaga Street and assess the upstream flows for the proposed storm drain system.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact associated with the approval of this item will be $92,924.00 for the full term of the Professional Services Agreement and is included in the Fiscal Year 2026/2027 budget in 37603361-245-A-8113 ($1,999.63), 37603361-630-A-8113 ($2,000.37), and 37603361-622-A-8113 ($88,924.00).
