Accept as complete the work performed by Dash Construction Company, Inc. for the construction of the Miller Park Fence Installation Project (Bid No. DE-24-08-SB).

COUNCIL GOALS:

DISCUSSION:
On March 12, 2024, the City Council authorized the award of a construction contract to Dash Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of $605,572.00 with a 10% contingency in the amount of $60,557.20 for the construction of the Miller Park Fence Installation Project (#37600045). The project consisted of the installation of wrought iron fencing and vehicular gates to control access to Miller Park Amphitheater and will provide controlled entry points during major events held at Miller Park Amphitheater.
Dash Construction Company, Inc. completed the project on January 30, 2025. The project was successfully completed for the final amount of $628,214.50, an increase of 3.74% from the original contract amount of $605,572.00 and $37,914.70 under the total authorized budget. All work has been completed to the satisfaction of the City of Fontana.
FISCAL IMPACT:
As part of the action to accept the construction of the Miller Park Fence Installation Project (#37600045) as complete, the City will take over the operation and maintenance of this public infrastructure. Appropriate funding for the maintenance work is included in the FY 2024-25 revised budget under the Public Works Department, Parks and Landscape Division.
